The Act of Getting There

Of course, sauna is about the time spent in the heat.

But a big part of it is also the act of getting there.

Back home, people don’t treat sauna like a spa treatment. It’s not something you book once in a while as a reward. It’s closer to going to the gym.

Something you do regularly.

A ritual.

Before work, after work. Three, four, five times a week.

Sometimes you feel like doing it...

Sometimes you don’t.


But you go anyway.

Because ritual isn’t just the heat.
It’s the rhythm around it.

Leaving the house. Walking there. Changing. Stepping into the cold. Sitting down on the bench.


Small actions that repeat themselves until they become part of your life.

That’s the difference between a treatment and a ritual.

A treatment is something you receive.
A ritual is something you show up for.


And most days, the hardest part is simply the act of getting there.
